Soil moving at the future Farm to Table picnic area

Volunteers Needed!

Volunteers are needed for two upcoming work days in July for the West Side Project. On Saturdays, July 9 and July 16 from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm we will be working on turning, layering and watering the large compost piles at the West Side lot and also continuing to work on grading the farm to table picnic area. Under design is the West Side pollinator bed adjacent to the west fence. We will try to get that planted this month, possibly on the July 16th work day if we can acquire plants by then. All work time will count toward the 12 (for full plot) or 6 (ADA and half plots) hour volunteering requirement for the 2022 gardening season.

It's working! Time to turn, layer, and water the compost piles at West Side!

Gardener Gratitude

On June 22 from 10:30 am to Noon, Sisters Keller, Ball, Dundas and McClatchie, from the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, volunteered at Rose Roots Community Garden. They worked diligently to turn the soil in our "Lasagna Bed" to prepare for planting of the pollinator garden along the West fence. Their hard work is much appreciated and we would be happy to work with them again this summer! Jason, many thanks for being the work crew catalyst!

  • Thank you to the Lauries, who put on a great show at the garden!

  • Thank you to Majestic View Nature Center, the City and Nicole McCrorie for hosting a wonderful City-wide pollinator garden tour.
